A worker makes a giant traditional red lantern outside a factory in Hebei province. Tuntou proclaims itself the lantern capital of China, producing millions of the holiday decorations. In Chinese culture, the colour red is meant to bring luck and happiness, and the fabric of each lantern is adorned with characters wishing for health, peace, and prosperity.
