Lifeblood by Austin Ferguson, US/UK

Austin Ferguson explores the story of wild salmon throughout Washington State and British Columbia, illustrating the critical role that they play in the ecosystem, while investigating some of the major causes of their decline. Here, two wild male Sockeye Salmon fight for mating rights in the Kennedy River on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. Salmon are a keystone species in the Pacific Northwest making them a vital part of the ecosystem as much of the flora and fauna depends on them for survival.
