After 35 years Saudi Arabia ends its movie theater ban


A good news has come for those who are interested in movies in Saudi Arabia. The ban has been removed from the theaters for the past 35 years. During this time, people were called on the basis of the invitation and Black Panther movie was shown.

On 18th April, the first cinema hall opened in Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh City. During this, the first screening was done privately, in which people were called on the basis of only invitation. After this it was opened to the general public.

According to Saudi government’s media, AMC Entertainment has been given the first license to run the cinema. The company is expected to launch more than 40 theaters in 15 cities in Saudi Arabia over the next five years.

America’s AMC has been licensed to show cinema in Saudi Arabia. Earlier, the officials had said that in May the cinema hall will be opened for the public. The CEO of the company that obtained the license to show the film in Saudi said it’s historic day.
