Interesting facts about date fruits and date trees


  • The word “Date” comes from the Greek word daktylos, meaning finger.
  • Date have been present in the Middle East and Northern Africa as a local food for more than 7000 years.
  • One cup of dates has about 400 calories, 27 percent of the recommended daily requirement of potassium and 48 percent of daily fiber needs.
